The future is bright... the future is AI Machine learning. What I like to know is the Difference between AI and Machine Learning? Is machine learning AI? Good question!

Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two very hot buzzwords right now, in 2017, and often seem to be used interchangeably.

AI and ML is NOT quite the same thing, but the perception that they are can sometimes lead to some confusion.

ML with AI is transformative technologies in most areas of our lives. Thanks to the likes of Google, Amazon, and Facebook, the terms AI and ML have become much more widespread than ever before.

They are often used interchangeably and promise all sorts from smarter home appliances to robots taking our jobs.

AI is subfield of computer science, that was created in the 1960s, and it was (is) concerned with solving tasks that are easy for humans, but hard for computers. In particular, a so-called Strong AI would be a system that can do anything a human can (perhaps without purely physical things).

Having said that... Machine learning is a particular approach to AI. It is true that it is proving to be the most successful approach to AI...

But, it is NOT the "only" approach

Machine learning is an approach to archive Artificial intelligence. Machine learning at its most basic is the practice of using algorithms to parse data, learn from it, and then make a determination or prediction about something in the world.

Machine learning, artifical intelligence and deep learning have become integral and have a big impact for many businesses. But, the terms are often used interchangeably, they're not the same.

Artificial intelligence, or AI, is defined as "the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behaviour." It encompasses anything from a robot playing a game of chess (or Machine Learning Game AI).

To a voice-recognition system like Amazon's Alexa interpreting and responding to speech. A big AI victory came in 1997 when IBM's Deep Blue beat world chess champion Garry Kasparov.

Machine learning, or ML, is a subset of AI. ML system is designed to take a large set of data, analyze it, and learn from it. This does not means you can take a past lottery data numbers and ML predict what lottery numbers will appear next week. You can try!

ML systems recognize patterns; ML gives computers the ability to learn. Deep Blue was NOT machining learning, since it was programmed specifically for chess.

On the other hand, Deep learning is a subset of machine learning. It feeds data into "neural networks" that learn the characteristic of something, like a face.

It's how facial recognition algorithms figure out. Deep learning is how Google DeepMind's AlphaGo beat world champion Go Player Lee Sedol in 2016, 1 year ago. AlphaGo studied 30 million human moves in Go, and began to learn by playing against itself.

Usually, when a conversations or discussions on Big Data crop up, you will hear AI and machine learning always come up together with analytics, and the broader waves of technological change which are sweeping through our world.

By definition, big data is an extremely large data sets that may be analysed computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially relating to human behaviour and interactions.

AI is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider "smart".

While Machine Learning is a current application of artificial intelligence based around the idea that we should really just be able to give machines access to data and let them learn for themselves.
